The Lane College National Alumni Association, Inc. congratulates Miss Lane College, Jada Brown, for making history on, July 29, 2023, at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tennessee as she was crowned the first Black contestant to win the title of Miss Tennessee Volunteer in the history of the pageant. As Miss Tennessee Volunteer, Brown will serve as the Governor’s Official Spokesperson for Character Education.
In addition to her role as Miss Lane College, Brown will hold the Miss Tennessee Volunteer title through 2024 and receive an $11,000 scholarship. She is a senior at Lane College seeking a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. As Miss Tennessee Volunteer, Jada will compete for the Miss America Volunteer crown on June 22, 2024.
We are so proud of Jada and excited to have her represent our Alma Mater.
